Winston Gilpin is the founder and president of Gilpin Consulting, LLC. Mr. Gilpin has over
thirty
years of experience in finance and accounting. He is a Certified Public
Accountant in the State of Texas. He has served in a number of executive management positions for publicly traded and privately owned companies, and outside advisor to several more.
Currently, he serves as the CFO of DFJ Mercury, a Texas based, seed and early stage venture capital fund. DFJ focuses on information technology, applied materials and life sciences industries. He also provides CFO services to Momentum Biofuels, Momentum is a publically traded biodiesel producer.
Mr. Gilpin and two partners have recently lanched Gamma Advisors, LLC. Gamma Advisors porvides executive level management to startups and mid-sized businesses. Gamma also Supports those businesses with seed capital.
Formerly, Mr. Gilpin served as the CFO of Internet REIT, Inc. Internet REIT is a leader in direct web navigation. Internet REIT is striving to build the world's largest, most profitable and highest-quality portfolio of Internet domain names.
Prior to starting Gilpin Consulting, he was a director and the Chief Financial Officer of Intermat, Inc. Intermat was a closely held S-Corp when he joined the firm in 1990; it was later sold to a publicly held corporation before being re-acquired in an MBO. In September 2004, a group including Mr. Gilpin sold the assets of Intermat, Inc. to IHS Group, Inc. During his fifteen-year tenure at Intermat, Mr. Gilpin’s responsibilities have included managing all of the financial aspects of the company, strategic planning, all contractual and legal matters, sales, marketing, operations and executive management.
Prior to joining Intermat, Mr. Gilpin held Controller and/or Chief Financial Officer positions with the following organizations: Partner's Construction (a subsidiary of Century Development Corporation), a multi-state construction company; Fogle Equipment Company, a construction equipment dealer; and Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube, a wholesale pipe distributor. Mr. Gilpin has also held the position of Chief Accountant with the Municipal Credit Union of New York City.
Currently, he provides CFO services for companies in several different industries, including online media services, software sales and development, construction, financial services, venture capital, and trucking. He also serves on the Board of Directors a community non-profit center.
